Wenhaston Primary School

2011 Ofstead Inspection

The outcome of the recent Ofsted inspection at Wenhaston Primary was very pleasing with all areas being graded as Good and nine areas graded as Outstanding.

The two areas we felt were particularly important were that the Curriculum was graded as Outstanding as was Equality of Opportunity. It is always our aim at Wenhaston to give every child every opportunity to succeed and develop their talents as well rounded individuals and we were delighted that this was recognised.

The areas identified to help the school move forwards are:

  • Ensure teachers’ questioning challenges pupils to think more deeply and extend their learning.

  • Develop pupils’ abilities to use their self-assessments to generate the next steps in their learning,
so they have greater awareness of themselves as learners.
